1788-L Releases First EP Since 2019 ‘Parallel: S’

Starting in 2018, 1788-L changed the way people thought about techno with his own heavy spin on the sound. It’s been a while since S Y N T H E T I K EP and his epic collaboration with The Glitch Mob in 2019. With little music from him since this year, 2021’s Parallel: S, is a back-to-basics of sorts featuring 2 original singles individually produced by him. “Human Machine,” is a faultless opening for a big return, the eccentric electric guitar intensifies the true-to-his-roots heavy techno sound. Budding build-ups and stomping drops make for a massively infectious, festival-ready aura. “Automation,” lightens up the vibe with a Daft-Punk-esque mid-tempo disco drive, suitably topped with melodic talk-box layer that gives the track extra vibrancy. The repeating sample work and mechanical structure here makes this one particularly entrancing and hypnotizing.

1788-L was announced as apart of the Hard Summer Music Festival lineup. With this expected to not be his only event this year, more will likely be announced as lockdowns lift to the benefit of live music enthusiasts. A staple of modern dance music today, 1788-L continues to contribute gold as the global dance music movement moves forward into a new decade of mainstream popularity.
