For Above & Beyond, connection has always been at the heart of their music. Now, seven years after their last electronic album, the legendary trio returns with ‘Bigger Than All Of Us’, set for release July 18 on Anjunabeats. The album’s lead single, “Quicksand (Don’t Go)” featuring longtime collaborator Zoë Johnston, arrives March 21, marking the start of a new era.
Described as an album about reconnection, Bigger Than All Of Us follows a period of creative expansion for the group. Since the release of Common Ground, which hit #3 on the Billboard charts, the trio has explored new avenues—whether through Paavo Siljamäki’s dancefloor-focused P.O.S. project, Tony McGuinness’ introspective ‘Salt’ album, or Jono Grant’s synthwave work with JODA. Now, they reunite under the Above & Beyond banner, bringing their signature sound back to the forefront.

“Quicksand (Don’t Go)”, which debuted during their sold-out Group Therapy 600 event in Mexico, taps into a familiar emotional depth. “It’s classic Zoë Johnston,” the group says. “Her voice is such a core part of our identity, and this song feels like a reassuring return.” Johnston herself describes the lyrics as capturing “the feeling of watching loss approach, like sinking into quicksand.”
With a world tour incoming—including a stop at London’s Brixton Academy and performances at Ultra Miami, Coachella, and Escapade—Above & Beyond are stepping back into the spotlight with a project that encapsulates both where they’ve been and where they’re going. If Bigger Than All Of Us is any indication, they’re far from finished shaping the landscape of electronic music.
