After two years, suffering a slew of unforeseen setbacks, venue swaps, and delays, Second Sky weekend is finally upon us. The second edition of Porter Robinson’s vision come to life arrives this weekend in the form of a two day spectacle featuring a lineup consisting of Madeon, Jai Wolf, Jacob Collier, Jon Hopkins, Knower, Wavedash, Toro y Moi, and even sneaking in a debut performance from Porter’s newly announced side-project Air2Earth. With so many festivities on the way, we want to make sure you head to those festival gates brimming with confidence and prepared for what to expect.
The two-day event takes place on September 18-19 at the Oakland Arena Grounds, with a forecast of cloudy weather ranging from the mid-70’s and below. It will be a chilly weekend in the Bay Area, so layers are encouraged, of course, if you aren’t already planning to purchase some of the exclusive festival merchandise that will be available on-site. The festival grounds will provide more than just chilly weather and amazing tunes, attendees will be treated to immersive experiences, food, vendors, and many niche spots perfect for those photo ops.
Whether you’re driving, taking Uber or BART, you’re going to want to head early to make sure you’ve got a chance to enjoy everything the two-day event has to offer. Doors open at 11am, you’ll want to make sure you arrive with all necessities in hand. Due to health and safety laws put in place, Second Sky is requiring all attendees to provide proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of the event. Masks are also enforced while inside the event unless you’re eating or drinking.
Acceptable documentation as proof of vaccination required for entry include:
- A physical copy of a COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card issued by CDC
- A digital copy or image of such card
Please make sure the proofs include FRONT and BACK of the card. All details must be legible. You MUST bring a government issued photo ID that matches the details indicated on the proof.
