ARTY & Audien Reunite On Sentimental Record, ‘Craving’

Fans have been craving for a follow-up to the 2018 collaboration ‘Never Letting Go’ from progressive house maestros Audien and Arty; they have delivered yet again. Retaining the addictingly cheerful synergy from their previous Anjunbeats effort, ‘Craving’ finds a colorful melody laid atop of a backdrop of sparkling verses courtesy of vocalist Ellee Duke. This time finding a home at Armada Records, their second collaboration proves the impressive evocative power of progressive house done right.

ARTY’s airy soundscapes collide beautifully with Audien’s shining supersaws on ‘Craving’, giving way to an instrumental that is perfectly complemented by Ellee Duke’s pop-worthy, passionate performance. Pure emotion finds its way into the tune through the timeless melody as well as the empowering lyrics, speaking of rebuilding confidence following a break-up.

For a record that exudes charisma and charm, it’s no surprise that the songwriting process was similarly authentic. Of the production, Audien says, “‘Craving’ came together really organically. Vocal aside, I went to ARTY’s studio in Downtown Los Angeles, and it was the first time we physically got in the studio together to make a song. The rest was history. I’ve been teasing the song in my sets for over a year now, and I’m super happy we finally get to officially release it.”

Meanwhile, Ellee Duke describes the songwriting process, “I remember writing this song at a studio in Malibu, and we just kept saying there is some serious magic happening here once we wrote and recorded the vocals. I’ve listened to the demo maybe 5,000 times since then, and I’ve screamed the lyrics at the top of my lungs alone in my car wondering if the world would ever hear it. So the fact that ARTY and Audien heard this gem and wanted to put their spin on it is a dream come true.”
