Bassnectar Announces First Full Album in Years–It’s Going to Get Nasty

Lorin Ashton, one of the OG bass music gurus better known as Bassnectar, has blessed bass heads around the world with a preview of his full album coming out on June 19th: All Colors. So far, he has unleashed two songs from the upcoming album, Empathy (Bass Remedy Remix) and Nice & Easy ft. Rodney P.

Empathy was originally released in 2012 on Vava Voom, but this one’s got a fresh twist on it and floods loyal bassheads’ eardrums with nostalgia–we really miss getting to experience Nectar live and direct.

Nice & Easy is a tune Bassnectar collaborated on with the legendary UK artist Rodney P. In this track, Rodney P. adds a “lyrical vengeance” overtop the bass. Lorin himself calls his music “omnitempo maximalism” which is an all-encompassing term to describe his music’s various speeds, time signatures, rhythms, and sound sources. This new song seamlessly incorporates a little transition into drum ‘n’ bass, truly captivating the minds of his listeners, both old and new. Are you ready for his album to drop?! If you’re as stoked as we are, the pre-order for the album is now available.
