Billie Eilish Drops 2nd 2020 Single ‘My Future’

Billie Eilish has released her second single so far this year, with her first being the soundtrack to the now delayed Jason Bond film. Released on Thursday, the day also marks brother/collaborator Finneas’ 23rd birthday.

Taking to Instagram Stories, Eilish shared the same artwork along with the message: “I can’t wait for this song to be yours.”

Eilish posted the animated cover for the single, which depicts the pop star looking up at a full moon as she sits under a tree.

“We wrote this at the very beginning of quarantine,” Eilish said in an email to fans on release day. “It’s a song that’s really, really personal and special to me. When we wrote this song, it was exactly where my head was at — hopeful, excited and a crazy amount of self-reflection and self-growth. But recently it has also taken on a lot of new meaning in the context of what’s happening in the world now. I hope you can all find meaning in it for yourselves.”

The track is set to be Eilish’s first new music since her record-breaking Bond theme ‘No Time To Die’, as well as 2019 track ‘Everything I Wanted’.

The singer confirmed back in January that she would be recording a new album and releasing a documentary in 2020. No release date has been confirmed for either yet, though she did offer some insight into the documentary.
