Break Science Drops Transcendent Single, ‘Mecha Flora’, From Upcoming EP

Colorado’s electronic music explosion over the last two decades has opened endless possibilities in sound design and emerging EDM with live performances. At the forefront of this movement is the innovative duo known as Break Science. Keyboardist, producer, and jazz pianist Borahm Lee is one half of the iconic pair and a member of the beloved Pretty Lights Live Band. The other half consists of funk and hip-hop drummer Adam Deitch, who also happens to be a crucial part of the jam band Lettuce. Together, they blend components of East Coast hip-hop, futuristic soundscapes, electro-soul, and a myriad of other genres into their signature style.

With an unrivaled sense of creativity and artistic vision, Break Science boasts an impressive history of original works and breathtaking sets. Their full-length LP, Grid Of Souls, exponentially grew the couple’s following and they’ve been tearing up the Denver scene and far beyond ever since. Always spicing thing up, sometime Break Science will transform into the Break Science Live Band, which encompasses several other members from Lettuce. In regard to production however, Break Science’s last release was “Mettawave” in 2020. That is why the arrival of their brand new single,”Mecha Flora”, comes at such a surprise for fans.

Fueled by euphoric key notes, warping synths, and infectious rhythms, “Mecha Flora” is melting pot of electro-funk. Creating a sense of balance, Mecha is the digital while Flora is the natural. Foreshadowing the duo’s highly anticipated EP (also called “Mecha Flora”), the groovy anthem layers components of live instruments with electronic production. Quarantined close to each other during the pandemic, Deitch and Borahm met up for isolated recording sessions. Their organic approach to music allowed them to push through this tough time and forge the foundation for Mecha Flora. This auditory experience will show its audience just how empowering and introspective Break Science’s style can be.
