Brussels artist Odymel has released his debut album, Endless Recess, today via Urban Records and Universal Music Group. The sixteen-track collection pushes the tension between nostalgia and the present into a fully realised world. It is written as one interconnected experience.
The record absorbs influences ranging from early European rave romanticism to modern techno. The result is a hybrid identity that feels distinctly Brussels but culturally cross-wired. The album arrives after a defining year for the artist, including sets at Tomorrowland Mainstage and a sold-out 2000-capacity headline show at Ancienne Belgique.
“A break that never ends, a space where time stops, where worries fade and where music takes over. It’s a celebration of the energy shared between friends when the world outside no longer matters.”
Endless Recess unfolds with its own internal logic. ‘Vitamine C’ opens in widescreen while ‘Refraction’ tightens the focus. ‘Danser’ with Boy & Girl brings pop immediacy, while ‘Love Bullet (Part 1 & 2)’ with Durdenhauer forms the emotional centre. Later, ‘J’aimerais’ introduces Odymel’s own vocals in a raw post-punk moment before ‘Big System’ and ‘Non-Stop’ close the world with full force euphoria.
