DAIJO Drops ‘Black James Bond’ On Showtek’s Label Skink Records

Releasing on Showtek’s label Skink Records, “Black James Bond,” hits all the right high-points a festival ready tune should from DAIJO. “Black James Bond,” embraces an electro-house aesthetic with a radio-friendly dance pop feel mixed in, with Canadian vocalist Qwiss delivering on the poppier side of things.

The single follows up a popular release titled “Oh Lord.” The track is in collaboration with Julian Jordan and released on STMPD RCRDS, the label owned by the one and only Martin Garrix. So it’s safe to say DAIJO is on one hell of a roll. “Black James Bond,” catapults a feverish theme as we hit mid-summer, the title of the track and the beat itself embracing a confidence-inducing, no f*cks given premise that’s ultra-appealing.

The single is a play on police brutality and racism’s intertangling with it, an issue that goes beyond the barrier of the USA. The single is a reminder for people of color that they can be exactly who they want in life and nothing should hold them back. This certainly won’t be the last we hear from DAIJO.
