Bonobo aka Simon Green today releases his latest LP Fragments. The hotly anticipated album comes after Bonobo was nominated twice for the 2022 GRAMMYs.
The 12 track album delves into the mindset of Bonobo whilst he started producing the LP at the start of the pandemic with ongoing California wildfires. After coming back from two years of touring to the complete postponement of all shows certainly had an impact on the production of the album. Bonobo showcases his signature, calming and touching sound as he guides the listener through many different vocals and feelings from the intro ‘Polyghost’ to the fitting finale ‘Day by Day’.
Several songs from Fragments were shared in advance of today, including ‘Tides’ featuring Jamila Woods, which was a catalyst for the album, ‘From You’ featuring Joji, and ‘Shadows’ featuring Jordan Rakei, which Green describes as “old school, Detroity, Moodymann and Theo Parrish-inspired.”
Fragments is the follow up to 2017’s Migration, which reached #1 on Billboard’s Dance album chart and hit Top Ten positions in several countries, including a Top 5 at home in the UK. Over 2 million fans attended Green’s tour supporting the album.
