Having released each individually, Dave Winnel’s debut EP is finally complete. He has shown a whole new side to his productions after experimenting with new sounds and producing what he enjoys listening to personally.
The EP kicks things off with ‘Lily of The Valley‘, a melodic masterpiece that keeps things deep yet refreshing – overall it is a very uplifting and positive feeling track. ‘Ksamil‘ (named after a location in Albania Dave spent several months at over the summer), has a similar vibe to ‘Lily of The Valley’ – yet introduces vocals and a relaxing tone as the vocal suggests. ‘Hyperloop‘, is more of a punchy upbeat house track with a straightforward yet effective melody. Concluding with the most recent release, ‘Brain Bug‘ – it has a subtle break but builds up to and drops into a modern electro house production – what’s interesting is that ‘Brain Bug‘ only includes one ‘drop‘.
Dave Winnel played the entire EP on vinyl live at Armin Van Buuren’s studio for A State Of Trance 912. In their brief conversation, Dave explained his inspiration behind the EP.
“I wanted to just make something without thinking too much, I wasn’t thinking about the dance floors, record labels, I wasn’t thinking even about my fans. I just wanted to make something that made me happy. This is the kind of music I listen to, so this was what came out“
