After The Neptunes teased their comeback yesterday, it was soon followed by deadmau5 posting the artwork for their coming collaboration; ‘pomegranate’.
Pharrell has dipped his toes into electronic music plenty of times in the past, working with acts such as Calvin Harris, Daft Punk and more, now the next time will be with the mau5.
deadmau5 and Pharrell have not yet worked musically together, however Pharrell did join Joel on one of his Coffee Run episodes so there has always been a per-existing relationship there.
The Neptunes originally came together in 1994, accumulating production credits on dozens of Billboard Hot 100 hits between the late ‘90s and early 00’s, including work with artists such as Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Kelis and Snoop Dogg. The duo released a solo album ‘Clones’ in 2003.
While The Neptunes haven’t released a project since 2003’s The Neptunes Present…Clones, hopes of a new full-length were reignited earlier this year when Hugo said they would be reuniting full-time in 2020. While no release date has been revealed for ‘pomegranate’, expect it to arrive sooner than later.
