Sometimes, the catchiness of a tune can’t be attributed to any of its elements in particular; it’s simply an amalgamation of crooning vocals, punchy production and simply feel-good vibes in the air. So is the case with Discrete and Chris Collins’ newest, a nostalgic and sentimental synthpop record titled ‘Better Days’.
Taken from Discrete’s upcoming debut EP ‘Explore’, ‘Better Days’ invites Chris Collins to narrate a story of heartache filled with nostalgia, backed by sweet, ethereal synths from the eighties. Minimalism is key when it comes to the production; somehow, airy pads, punching kicks, and a strong bassline all find themselves shining in the mix, synergizing into a truly addicting beat.
Both producer Discrete and singer Chris Collins have ways to go, with their songwriting magic evident as ever in ‘Better Days’.
