‘F1 The Album’ Races Onto Platforms

The highly anticipated F1 movie, an Apple Original Film, has roared into cinemas today, June 27, 2025, and with it comes a turbo-charged soundtrack to match the on-screen action. Titled F1 The Album, the soundtrack features a star-studded lineup of original songs from a diverse range of artists, alongside a compelling score by the legendary Hans Zimmer.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Brad Pitt, and Lewis Hamilton, the film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former F1 driver who returns to the sport to mentor a rookie teammate, Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. The film provides an unprecedented, immersive look into the world of Formula 1, with real F1 Grand Prix circuits and modified F2 cars used for filming.

The album features 17 original tracks, with artists spanning various genres, from pop and hip-hop to Afrobeat and country. Lewis Hamilton, who served as a producer and consultant on the film, was instrumental in ensuring the soundtrack had a diverse and international sound.

The album features artists such as Don Toliver, Doja Cat, Ed Sheeran, Tate McRae, ROSÉ, Roddy Ricch, Chris Stapleton, Tiësto, Sexyy Red, Burna Boy, and Myke Towers, among others. Many of the artists were given scenes or concepts from the film to inspire their creations, with Ed Sheeran’s song “Drive” written specifically for the end credits to culminate the journey of Brad Pitt’s character.

In addition to the album of original songs, the film’s score was composed by the prolific and Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer. Known for his powerful and cinematic scores, Zimmer’s work adds a new layer of intensity to the film. Having been inside an F1 car, Zimmer drew inspiration from the feeling of both danger and elegance, translating that experience into the music. While some fans have noted that the score is often in the background, serving the narrative, it is a crucial element that elevates the on-screen action.
