Fleabustiers is a collective of talents born out of the pandemic, comprising of musicians that found they could not rehearse, record and perform to a live audience. Fleabustiers’ mission is to “surprise you into loving music that you never thought you would enjoy” – they’ve done exactly that with their new one; ‘Sinking Ship’.
In their debut album, “Time Can Wait,” they have released a compelling first video that delves into the complexities of the climate change debate. ‘Sinking Ship’, while touching on environmental themes, goes beyond just that. It critically examines how the conversation has become polarized, with people entrenched in their views and more focused on being right than on understanding opposing perspectives.
The rhythmic flow of the song evokes a vivid image of a lone boat adrift in the waves, naturally tying into the motifs of the sea and the climate. This connection is almost inevitable, given the song’s underlying themes and the emotive backdrop it creates.
