FX‘s upcoming limited series Say Nothing will premiere Thursday, November 14 with all nine episodes, exclusively on Hulu, the network announced today. Internationally, the series also debuts November 14 exclusively on Disney+ in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Gibraltar, the Balkans, Singapore and the Philippines. It will be coming soon to Disney+ in all other territories.
The series is adapted from Patrick Radden Keefe’s best-selling book, which recently placed #19 on the New York Times’ list of the 100 Best Books of the 21st Century.
“Say Nothing” is a compelling tale of murder and memory set against the backdrop of Northern Ireland’s Troubles.
The story spans four decades, beginning with the shocking 1972 abduction of Jean McConville, a single mother of ten who was taken from her home and never seen alive again.
Focusing on key members of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), “Say Nothing” delves into the lengths individuals will go to for their beliefs, the way a deeply divided society can spiral into armed conflict, the lasting impact of radical violence on those involved, and the emotional and psychological toll of maintaining silence.
The series features Lola Petticrew as Dolours Price and Hazel Doupe as Marian Price, two young women who became powerful symbols of radical politics. Anthony Boyle plays Brendan Hughes, a charismatic yet conflicted military strategist, while Josh Finan portrays Gerry Adams, a prominent political figure who later negotiated peace and has consistently denied any IRA involvement. Maxine Peake stars as the older Dolours Price.
