GORDO Teams Up With Seeds of Learning For His Third Central American Education Center

Although much of the EDM scene revolves around partying at clubs and music festivals, there is a lot more behind the scenes. Many artists love to give back to their fans and communities by launching their charitable ventures. A prime example of this is Diamante Anthony Blackmon, otherwise known as his house alias GORDO and dubstep alter-ego Carnage.

Since kicking off his philanthropic campaign in 2014, GORDO has been a major advocate for providing education to those who cannot afford it. Furthering this project, GORDO has connected with Seeds of Learning to fund his third Central American learning center, EDIFICIO TARAKA. The facility will now be a staple for educational development in its surrounding city of Nuevo Eden in Guatemala.

Explaining how this idea for EDIFICIO TARAKA came about, GORDO says, “my childhood in Guatemala shaped who I am today and I am honored to give back to the generation of tomorrow in my home country. I dedicate this school to my aunt, my uncle, and my late cousin Catherine who I grew up with in Guatemala.” Even though GORDO is cherished for his chart-topping hits and immersive DJ sets, he is also leaving a legacy behind in the Central American education sector.
