GRiZ Announces Sixth Annual GRiZMAS Shows

Hometown heroes from the Midwest are always special. Being from the Midwest myself I know that we struggle to find touring artists from our neck of the woods. That’s why when one, not only reps the Midwest, but gives back to the community, playing special concerts in their home state Midwesterners come out in droves to show their support and love for their hometown hero.

GRiZ is one such act, representing the Wolverine State of Michigan. His love for his hometown of Detroit has brought some special concerts including his ’12 Dayz of GRiZMAS’ series which has been rocking Detroit since 2014. It returns for its sixth annual rendition on December 13 and 14 at The Masonic Temple. Each night will be a unique and special event with a Friday set featuring favorites from ’10-‘ 17 and then Saturday being GRiZ’s biggest stage production in the history of GRiZ, The Imaginarium.

GRiZMAS is not just a concert series. It is also a way for GRiZ to give back to Detroit during the holidays. Since 2014, GRiZ has thrown a number of charitable events that coincide with his concert series that has raised over $100,000 in the last two years and has helped fund music education, art programs and coding lessons across Detroit’s public schools. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit organization, Seven Mile. The city of Detroit has honored the event with the “Spirit of Detroit” award and has been praised by a number of publications.

GRiZ has been on a massive worldwide tour in support of his latest studio album the critically acclaimed Ride Waves, and this summers three EP release Bangers. His US leg has seen him melt faces from Red Rocks, to Chicago, to Austin City Limits, and will find its way to the west coast soon, but GRiZMAS will feature a set of shows few have ever seen him play. Tickets are going fast so get yours so you don’t miss out on this amazing concert series, and check out this hilarious announcement video HERE.
