Denver-based trio Hostage Situation continues the rollout of their debut album Hostile Frequencies with the release of their second single, “The Device.” Following the success of their lead single “Burn For You,” this new track highlights their evolving sound, blending dubstep and riddim with refined production techniques.
“The Device” builds on the energy that has characterized their live performances, which have included sold-out shows at venues such as The Black Box and The Gothic Theatre, as well as appearances at festivals including Global Dance Festival and Decadence NYE Colorado. The single’s release coincides with the announcement of their national ‘Hostile Frequencies’ tour, beginning August 16th in Columbus, OH, and visiting cities such as Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Toronto, Detroit, and Philadelphia.

Supported by acts like Big Blok and Fraxure, Hostage Situation is positioning themselves as an important presence in the bass music community. Their upcoming album, due out October 2nd, is expected to showcase a range of styles that combine heavy bass with more melodic and emotional elements.
As “The Device” gains attention and the tour progresses, Hostage Situation continues to kill the game undeniably. Their growth from the Denver music scene to a national platform is an incredible phenomenon happening in real time no one should miss out on.
