John Summit & Sub Focus Combine House & Drum & Bass On Exhilarating New Single ‘Go Back’

John Summit and Sub Focus, some of the hottest names in dance music, collide for ‘Go Back’. With the talent Julia Church on vocals, this is the ultimate electronic record.

Coming from different sides of electronic dance music, the pair manage to perfectly merge their distinctive styles. The first half showcases Summit’s house music prowess, whilst the latter half of ‘Go Back’ takes a journey into Sub Focus’ drum and bass world with an electrifying build and encapsulating drop. ‘Go Back’ is a delicious offering and is sure to get a plethora of support across the summer festival circuit.

On “Go Back,” Summit shares, “I’ve always loved drum and bass and knew I wanted to combine my sound with it somehow. As a fan of Sub Focus and his use of combining strong vocals with infectious melodies, similarly to my style, I knew there was potential. Being able to come together and truly combine our two styles worked out even better than we both anticipated. Seeing the crowds’ reactions to our production + Julia Church’s incredible vocals has been unreal!”

Additionally, Sub Focus shares, “I’ve always thought mine and John’s styles were quite similar but we lived in different genres so I was excited to get the chance to work together when he was over here on tour. We came up with the idea of speeding up the tempo in the middle of the song between House and Drum n Bass inspired by a drum and bass remix of Lil Louis – French Kiss that I used to love back in the day. It’s been amazing to see crowds from around the world respond to the song and the energy uplift that this tempo change creates.”

John Summit is on a winning streak this year. Following a packed show at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix and two dynamic sets at Coachella, including one alongside Dom Dolla as Everything Always, he’s been turning heads with his latest tracks ‘EAT THE BASS’ and the magical collaboration “Shiver” with UK artist Hayla. Now, he’s gearing up for a global tour, hitting up cities like Las Vegas, Toronto, and New York along the way.
