Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN’ The Focus Of Season 5 Of Spotify’s Dissect Podcast

Returning for its fifth Season the Spotify owned podcast Dissect is back today, this time focusing on Kendrick Lamars 2017′ album ‘DAMN’. Previous seasons of the show have featured the likes of Tyler The Creator, Frank Ocean, Lauren Hill and Kanye West. The show hosted by Cole Cuchna tears apart the culture, life and music of pivotal albums to an extremely granular level.

The first episode has been made available today on Spotify, a week before it is released to all other platforms. The introduction refreshes us on Lamar’s early days in Compton as well as his religious beliefs and faith, a concept which is heavily explored on the album.

Lamars Pulitzer-Prize winning ‘DAMN’ is a healthy candidate for a feature having not receiving widespread critical acclaim, it had a powerful impact on the cultural movement it carried an important message. The album topped the charts in the US and Canada and shortly missing out on a top spot in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
