Kygo Keeps Avicii Alive With Tribute ‘Forever Yours’ Alongside Sandro Cavassa

Today, Avicii’s unfinished and unreleased track ‘Forever Yours’ with Sandro Cavazza was released. This was not possible without Avicii inspired artist Kygo. This must have been very special for Kygo to do, the Norwegian artist is a huge fan of the late artist and even got a tattoo after his passing.

Originally premiered at Ultra in 2016, ‘Forever Yours’ fell into the grouping of Avicii’s unreleased tracks, until today. With Kygo working together with Sandro Cavazza on ‘Happy Now’, the two acts seemingly further worked on the unreleased Avicii track – making today’s release possible. The track was played at Tim’s tribute concert as a tribute by Kygo & Sandro.

One of my biggest dreams was to get in the studio with Tim. Unfortunately we never, you know, got to do that. So when he (Sandro) sent me that song I felt like that was the closest I could get to collaborate with Tim. – Kygo

Universal Music stated; “During a trip across the US in 2016, Sandro Cavazza played Tim an early version of “Forever Yours.” Heading towards Avicii’s show at Ultra Miami, Tim immediately started working on it on the tour bus and played a demo at the festival. The song was never completed or released while Tim was alive, but now Kygo and Sandro have together produced a version to honor his memory.” The artwork further depicts Avicii’s travels through America on his way to Miami, working on music with friends.

After Avicii’s ‘TIM’ album and then multiple remixes from fellow artists, this is the most recent piece of posthumous music we have received and hopefully not the last.

Aligning with Avicii’s posthumous album ‘TIM’, the artists involved have advised that all proceeds from the track will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
