Lady Gaga Drops ‘Chromatica’ Album, Produced By Skrillex, Axwell, Madeon, Tchami + More

Lady Gaga has today released her highly anticipated and delayed sixth album Chromatica. Featuring the likes of Axwell, Tchami, Madeon, Skrillex and more dance artists in the production side – this album may be the first major commercial album that has tapped these types of producers.

Lady Gaga’s collaboration with Elton John has names such as Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Bloodpop, Burns, Klahr, LIOHN, Rami Yacoub, Ryan Tedder, Salem Al Fakir and Vincent Ponte involved. Considering the talent and star power that went into the record, don’t be surprised when you hear this everywhere. During a time of silence from the Swedish House Mafia, it’s nice to hear new music from at least one of the members.

It is not surprising to see Madeon tapped for a production, as he has worked with Gaga multiple times in the past. Skrillex’s production can be heard on ‘Plastic Doll’, whilst you can hear Tchami on ‘Stupid Love’, ‘Rain On Me’, ‘1000 Doves’ and ‘Babylon’. Lady Gaga’s ‘go to’ producer Bloodpop obviously has a heavy presence behind the productions, as does Burns, who finds himself involved in 7 of the 16 tracks.

In a recent interview, Gaga stated,“I would like to put out music that a big chunk of the world will hear, and it will become a part of their daily lives and make them happy every single day”.

The album is a refreshing take on pop music, with the incorporated electronic elements – it will be interesting to see how Lady Gaga’s fans react to the new style. Hopefully we see more electronic producers involved in future pop albums.
