Laxcity and EMIA Join Together for a Soft Love Ballad “The Way That I Do”

Joshua Mbewe, aka Laxcity, made a splash year when Justin Bieber tweeted at him saying that Josh was now a part of Justin’s new album because Justin used one of Josh’s samples in a song. While all eyes were on him, he unfortunately fell into a creative rut, unable to make anything he was happy with. He had put too much pressure on himself which had him thinking everything he was making was trash and that he could do better. Josh soon realized what he was doing to himself and figured out the remedy was to disconnect and step away from everything.

From this disconnection, Josh was able to find himself, his inspiration, and his creativity again. He began working on a brand new EP with a new found joy.

“This EP contains music created from my decision to ‘disconnect’ from perfectionism and focus on having fun other than beating myself up for not reaching my fullest potential.” – Laxcity

The first single from his upcoming EP just came out last Friday. “The Way That I Do” sees him work together again with former collaborator EMIA to create another calming electronica ballad. With the rest of the EP due out on January 29th, you can expect to hear some of Laxcity’s best music to date in just a few weeks.
