Kanye West had all of us fooled for a moment, the master of album delays missed his midnight release date following what he called the Jesus Is King Album & Film Experience last night in LA. Almost a month after he missed it’s original release. However, it turns out JESUS IS KING was only having some final tracks mastered and it has now dropped in full on all streaming services.
The delay and release also came as West who sat down with Apple’s Zane Lowe yesterday revealed that he will also be releasing another new album on Christmas Day called Jesus Is Born.
The 11 track album ‘JESUS IS KING’ includes a small handful of features including Ty Dolla $ign, Ant Clemons, Fred Hammond, Clipse and iconic instrumentalist Kenny G. Interestingly as it’s been inspired by his religious journey it’s Kanye’s first album since 2008 that comes without an explicit rating attached to it.
It has a relatively short run time of only 27 minutes, it includes four tracks that sit under the 2-minute mark, among them the opening “Every Hour’ which features the Sunday Service Choir and the closing track ‘Jesus Is Lord’ which is only 49 seconds long.
