Chicago-based electronic duo Louis The Child, made up of Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, has released their highly anticipated second album, The Sun Comes Up, via Interscope Records. Known for blending genres and rhythms, the duo continues to push creative boundaries across the album’s 13 tracks, exploring a range of tempos, moods, and musical styles.
Louis The Child, with nearly two billion career streams, describes The Sun Comes Up as their most personal work to date. The album seamlessly merges danceable beats with moments of introspection, showcasing their signature production style. Tracks like “Supercharger,” featuring 1996Montana, highlight their ability to fuse trap, hip-hop, and house elements, while tracks like “Believe It” (featuring Madeon) and “I’m Not Giving Up” (with MEMBA) provide feel-good energy and anthemic soundscapes.
The Sun Comes Up is a vibrant showcase of Louis The Child’s signature sound, blending their infectious, feel-good energy with bold, dynamic production. The album is filled with bright synths, uplifting rhythms, and genre-blurring beats, creating a soundscape that radiates positivity. Notably, the vocal performances throughout the album add depth and emotion, amplifying the duo’s knack for crafting both dancefloor anthems and more introspective moments.
“It’s what feels worth the time and energy, doing your best to make the world brighter for yourself, and then along the way, for everyone else, too,” Hauldren explains. “When you’re intentionally making music, it’s your choice what to say. Are you going to talk about how much you hate a person, or are you going to talk about how you’ve grown from how they treated you, and try to find some new understanding through it?”
