Maroon 5 – Girls Like You Ft. Cardi B

Last week Maroon 5 dropped a video for their single “Girls Like You” taken from their latest album. The new version includes a remix from none other than Cardi B and the unexpected collaboration is accompanied by a star studded video that includes comedians, athletes, activists, models, musicians and more.

While some may not be happy about the always controversial Cardi B’s inclusion, it is no doubt a perfect storm for global reach. The combination of influential characters push a clear message of female empowerment and diversity, and it finishes with a shot including Adam Levine’s wife and child.

However the video may be the bands way of apologizing, interestingly to note the album the song was taken from is called “Red Pill Blues”, a phrase they learned after releasing that is commonly used by anti-feminists.

The full list includes Camilla Ceballo, Ellen DeGeneres, Phoebe Robinson, Aly Raisman, Sarah Silverman, Gal Gadot, Lily Singh, Jennifer Lopez, Chloe Kim, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, Trace Lysette, Mary J. Blige, Tiffany Haddish, Alex Morgan, Angy Rivera, Franchesca Ramsey, Millie Bobbie Brown, Beanie Feldstein, Jackie Fielder, Danica Patrick, Ilhan Omar, Elizabeth Banks, Ashley Graham, Rita Ora and Behati Prinsloo.
