Marvel Studios has dropped the first teaser trailer and poster for Ironheart, the upcoming Disney+ series centered on Riri Williams, a young tech prodigy first introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The series premieres June 25 and gives the character her long-awaited solo spotlight.
Set after the events of Wakanda Forever, Ironheart follows Riri as she returns to her hometown of Chicago and continues developing her custom-built iron suits. Her brilliance catches up with her when she’s pulled into a conflict with Parker Robbins, aka The Hood; a dangerous figure who blends street-level crime with dark magic. The clash between science and the supernatural becomes a driving force in the six-episode series.
Dominique Thorne leads the cast once again as Riri, joined by Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich, Regan Aliyah, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, and Anji White. The show is led by head writer Chinaka Hodge and directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes.
Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Zoie Nagelhout, Chinaka Hodge, Ryan Coogler, Sev Ohanian, and Zinzi Coogler. Music is composed by Dara Taylor, and the show is produced in association with Coogler’s Proximity Media.
Riri Williams made her Marvel Comics debut in 2016, created by Brian Michael Bendis. Originally seen as a successor to Tony Stark, her character evolved over time into a distinct hero with roots in Chicago and a focus on community, innovation, and identity.
Executive producer Ryan Coogler is coming off the success of Sinners, a buzzy feature film that premiered to strong reviews and solid box office performance recently.
Ironheart premieres June 25 exclusively on Disney+. Watch the new teaser trailer and view the official poster below.
