matphilly & SUBshockers Collab On Powerful Project, ‘AMP’ EP

Breaking down the barriers of genre while centered around a powerful message, AMP EP is a groundbreaking compilation brought to music fans by matphilly and SUBshockers. matphilly is a renowned artist who has performed at prime venues like Exchange LA and Academy LA, along with sharing the stage with top-tier performers, such as Zomboy and Knife Party. Equally as impressive, SUBshocker’s has released tracks on Circus Records and Ultra Records, in addition to playing at EDC 2018 and other acclaimed events.

Now, these innovative and expert artists have joined forces on their new visionary project AMP EP. Speaking on the inspiration behind the EP, matphilly shares, “my brother was an important part of my life and losing him out of nowhere really changed the course of my life and mental health. So much so that I was going to quit music but I know he would want me to keep going, so to pay tribute to him, I chose my closest friends in SUBshockers. He knew my brother as well and we channeled our energy to pay tribute to his life and legacy. This is something I want the world to see who never met my brother and how important he was to so many people. He’s missed dearly and I hope we did him justice in this project.”

On top of honoring matphilly’s late brother, AMP EP takes listeners on a sonic adventure. Each track brings something unique and entrancing to the table, like “It Hurts”, a collab with JROHMSKII that encompasses uplifting vocals and hypnotic progressions of future bass. Throughout the compilation, there are more special collabs and different fusions of bass music. Dropping AMP EP is just beginning for matphilly and SUBshockers, as they plan for future live shows and exclusive experiences in 2023.
