Meet SyKo: The Trailblazing Musical Mind Behind #BrooklynBloodPop

While there are always emerging artists, singers, and songwriters in almost every genre imaginable, only a few seem capable of bending styles in such a way that it effectively creates a new sound entirely. Brimming with this level of originality is the vibrant artist and songwriter SyKo, who has officially sculpted a peculiar niche in the music industry with his avant-garde approach to Trance music — as exemplified by #BrooklynBloodPop. Although he has amassed recognition for revolution in the industry now, SyKo’s story goes back to long before he had a song reach one million streams.

SyKo’s unique journey began in a trailer park in the rural town of River Road, TX, where dreams often seem out of reach. His humble beginnings instilled in him a fierce determination to defy expectations. Reflecting on his journey, SyKo humbly shares, “I don’t believe I possess any extraordinary talents, it’s about how I use the tools I have.” This grounded perspective speaks volumes about his creativity and the power of perseverance. His childhood, initially marked by chaos, laid the groundwork for his musical taste and style.

He always knew he had an innately strategic mind, but it was at age 14 that he discovered his passion for music. After acquiring his first Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), he began experimenting with beats. He went from being a kid behind a Walmart with nothing but a laptop and a pair of Skullcandy headphones to flourishing in vocal production. “Music became my sanctuary,” he says, “a place where I could express myself freely.” While sometimes troubling, his earliest experiences showed him the value of being yourself, persevering, and the importance of defying boundaries in music.

Inspired by artists like Lil Uzi Vert and Skrillex, SyKo has carved out his unique voice in an industry that often sidelines originality. “Trance music has been a significant influence,” He shares. “It’s the catalyst of EDM, yet often overlooked.” SyKo saw an opportunity to innovate with EDM by blending different genres, resulting in tracks like the distinctive #BrooklynBloodPop on 25/7 Records.

SyKo emphasizes that “What sets me apart is the ability to innovate. Music shouldn’t just follow trends—it should redefine them.” This mindset is reflected in his sound, which flagrantly resonates with fans and fellow musicians, especially those who appreciate authenticity in an industry saturated with formulaic hits.

Speaking about his breakout hit, #BrooklynBloodPop, which gained unexpected popularity, SyKo shares, “It felt like I was proving myself anew every day.” Despite initial doubts, the track quickly surpassed one million streams and achieved gold status. This achievement led to recognition from his idol, Lil Uzi Vert. “Having someone like him acknowledge my work was surreal,” SyKo admits. “It was a validation of years of hard work and dedication.”

Beyond the recognition and accolades, SyKo says that he ultimately finds most fulfillment in supporting his family with his music. The artist shared a small piece of his life by saying, “Taking care of my loved ones is my greatest achievement.”

Presently, SyKo focuses on further expanding his sound and looks forward to collaborating with more of his musical heroes. “I want to keep pushing boundaries while maintaining a balance between creativity and personal growth,” he adds. His innately analytical mind, melded with a vigorous pursuit of the next sound, eats at him, forcing him to strive further into the endless void of innovation.
