Melbourne Wraps Up Palm Tree Music Festival’s Second Aussie Edition with Style

The Palm Tree Music Festival brought its signature flair to Melbourne, transforming the city into a paradise of music, sunshine, and good vibes. Created by Kygo and his manager Myles Shear, the festival has made waves globally, and its Melbourne edition proved why it has become a must-attend event.

The festival kicked off in Sydney on Friday, made its way to Brisbane on Saturday, and concluded in Melbourne on Sunday.

Held at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, the day offered a perfect mix of stunning weather, laid-back energy, and world-class performances. While the venue has its perks, such as a great atmosphere and central location, the seating layout presented some challenges for the crowd. Despite this, it didn’t stop fans from making the most of the night.

Unfortunately, Alesso was unable to make it to Australia and was replaced by Peking Duk. Surprisingly, the Aussie duo was given Alesso’s slot before The Chainsmokers, despite Gryffin being a larger artist who might have been a more logical choice for the primetime set. That said, Gryffin’s earlier set turned out to be a standout moment of the night. Known for his dance-pop anthems, Gryffin shifted gears with a high-energy performance featuring hard-hitting drops that shook the venue. With the crowd jumping, the sound system delivering incredible clarity, and the pyro effects lighting up the stage, his set was unforgettable.

The odds weren’t entirely in the festival’s favor this time around. Hosting the event on a Sunday night posed challenges, as did Alesso’s cancellation. Adding to this, the competition from Dom Dolla and Solomun’s last-minute event siphoned some attention. Despite these hurdles, the festival drew a massive crowd and delivered an incredible experience, proving it remains a key player in Australia’s music scene.

This marks the second iteration of Palm Tree Music Festival in Australia, and its momentum only seems to be growing. Here’s hoping for an even bigger and better edition in 2025!
