Releasing music for a handful of years now under his aliases Message North and Hurks, Dustin Heck is a massively talented artist from Knoxville, Tennessee, documenting his life and personal struggles with emotions, character, and mental illness through his introspective music. His previous release on Tasty Network came out two years ago in the form of “Perfect Soul” featuring P3RIPH3RAL and Ashley Apollodor, under his moniker Hurks, while he is now coming back to the label with his new EP Blank Slate.
Message North’s Blank Slate is a stunning 4-track project, filled with deep basses, orchestral breaks, and unique melodies. Opening track “Traveler” is filled with gritty basslines and impressive sound design, while “Talk” and “Blank State” keep the energy going in a truly impressive way. Closing track “Maybe” acts as a wonderful outro to the whole EP, making us really excited to hear what Message North might be working on next.
