2020 was a bumpy road but Mt. Sierra was making the most of it. He prepared a full-length album and is now ready to release, with the first single being “Mt. Joel.” Showcasing a certain west coast vibe with the desert-tinged mountains and long roads in the album art, there’s something metaphysical and meaningful that can be sensed from this release even before the play button is clicked.
“Mt. Joel,” harnesses a progressive house platform where heart-warming synths, techy percussion and lush soundscapes all come together to transmit a fruitful experience to the end listener. Paying tribute to one of electronic music’s most beloved producers, Joel Zimmerman aka Deadmau5, you can unequivocally hear the inspirations of this iconic artist between the lines of this release.
“Prior to deciding to use this track as my debut, I couldn’t decide what to put out first. I am sitting on so much unreleased music, so it was a gargantuan task. When I thought back to the process of creating this tune during my time at Icon Collective, it
only made sense that I release this first. I mean, It just felt right to pay tribute to someone who I consider to be one of my biggest inspirations. After giving it a listen, I think you can see where I’m coming from. It’s all in the synths.”
