New Artist Whimsy Flips Rising Duo Babe Club In ‘Need A Girl’

Babe Club is a duo based in the south who refuse to let go of their dreams. The two of them boast plenty of releases under their belt, “Need A Girl,” being the latest of a relatively hefty discography they’ve been gradually building up. In June, they’ve recruited new artist whimsy to add his sauce to their sound. The end result is, “Need A Girl” (whimsey Remix,)” an uplifting, cheery feel that blends in retro sounds with keyboard percussion instruments. Rather than go to an extreme or a polarizing direction with the flip, whimsey soaks in the theme of the original and enhances things to a new, fitting realm. Not escaping to a unfamiliar sonic territory, but also not sticking too close to what the original is already bringing about.

Based in Chicago, whimsy shares a style that’s lively, containing a multi-genre feel to it. Most vibes are on the table for him, in terms of what he likes to work with: pop, indie, electronic, hip-hop and more. His music is often lush and therapeutic, yet shimmering synths and pronounced drums can make an appearance as well.

Babe Club and whimsey were a natural connection, one can hope this won’t be the last time they work together.
