New Dance Sounds: NERVO, Afrojack, Pegboard Nerds + More

Another Friday, another batch of top dance productions. Some of the biggest releases this week were Hardwell’s Revealed Vol. 10, Skrillex and Boys Noize teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign and Seven Lions, Excision and Wooli release their three way collab. We also saw Dillon Francis release the first single of his upcoming mixtape and following his album, DJ Snake has returned on GASHI’s ‘Safety’.

Brooks & Jonas Aden – Riot [STMPD]

These two artists go way back and now after 3 years, their new collaboration has finally arrived. Played out by label head Martin Garrix recently, this ID got people thinking and now it’s out, it may exceed what you would expect from these two names. This massive main room house record is definitely our pick for the best dance track this week – it deserves your attention! Don’t be surprised to see this played heavily across the dance music scene.

Chico Rose feat. Afrojack – Sad [Spinnin’]

Chico Rose who used to be know as Ravitez has once again jumped in the studio with Afrojack. Together they cover late young rap artist XXXTENTACION’s viral track ‘Sad’. This new rendition brings a punchy bass sound to what was already a proven hit. This is sure to do well with the abundance of fans who want a more dance-friendly version of the hit.

Ferry Corsten & Johnny B – Hear It Now [Flashover]

Ferry Corsten has once again demonstrated his production capabilities with an incredible release. This time teaming up with Johnny B, the track is extraordinary. From the vocals, to the melody, to the drop – this is a highlight this week and we will most certainly have it on repeat this weekend!

Deniz Koyu – Lost Soul [Protocol]

After delivering ‘Paradise’ with Nicky Romero back in 2018 (that has amassed over 18M streams). Deniz is back on Protocol with his brand new single ‘Lost Soul’, which is his 5th release on the label. The track is a melodic progressive house masterpiece with mesmerizing vocals and is up there with Deniz and Protocol’s best!

Mark Knight vs Mr Roy – Something About U [Toolroom]

Mark Knight returns to his own imprint Toolroom, this time with Mr Roy for a classic house production. This one has catchy house vocals that build into a punchy drop! All house music lovers will enjoy this latest one from Mark Knight.

NERVO x Firebeatz feat. Karra – Illusion [Spinnin’]

Two EDM heavyweights come together for ‘Illusion’ and bring talented vocalist Karra on board. The production features a unique but familiar sound – something that is fresh in the current state of dance music. The vocals from Karra, as expected, are quality and compliment the instrumental from NERVO and Firebeatz exquisitely.

Tom Budin feat. SWEEDiSH – Madmen [OneLove]

Aussie house artist Tom Budin is back on Aussie label OneLove with ‘Madmen’. Having worked together back in 2016, it’s good to see SWEEDiSH on another Tom Budin production. On this production, you can expect impeccable sound design and a brilliant melody!

Pegboard Nerds – Give A Little Love [Beat Games]

Pegboard Nerds joins 5 other artists on Beat Games’ new soundtrack. ‘Give A Little Love’ has a high energetic feel to it, with calm and subtle vocals. It builds into what Pegboard Nerds are known for, a hard hitting electronic drop. This track is right at home on a gaming EP!

Joel Cantone – Down [Bourne]

Joel Cantone returns to Bourne Deep with an incredible deep trancey production. With tremendous vocals, stellar melodies and a sound design to match, this is a track to not sleep on. This track really shows you that less is more sometimes!

Petey Mac – Dance With Me [Gameroom Records]

Petey Mac has had quite a year. The Seattle based artist’s previous single ‘Love Is The Answer’ was featured on Spotify’s Mint, Dance Rising and Housewerk playlists. Now armed with a hungry audience he returns with ‘Dance With Me‘. It’s house music at its finest, with upbeat vibes, catchy piano samples and energetic yet positive lyrics.

Calcou – Colors on Screen

‘Colors on Screen’ is the second release of Berlin based producer, composer & multi-instrumentalist Calcou. Noisy atmospheres, subtle melodic layers and organic textures immediately draw you into his sonic world. Calcou recruits GRIP TIGHT for the perfect vocals for this instrumental!
