Nio Drops Uplifting Future-Inspired Single ‘Heart Stops’

Making his debut here at CULTR, rising artist Nio makes genre-hybrid productions look easy in “Heart Stops.” The single blends in elements of future bass and dance pop, with a catchy topline to wrap it all together. The track has multiple moods built in, somber at some moments but hopeful at others, it’s the arrangement that allows the experience to flow altogether. Regardless of how you take it in, Nio proves he’s got the chops to last for the long-term with “Heart Stops.”

Based out of Philadelphia, Nio has a hunger for dance music which influenced the kick off of the alias in 2020. He dropped one single that year and a total of 4 singles including this latest one. After given a copy of Worlds Apart by Seven Lions – an influential album in the world of global dance music – he was one of the young men it swept up.

In his mid-teens, spending time on Ableton Live became a new pass-time, putting in the hours that would help him achieve the skillset he has now. Today, the sonic space Nio tackles is somewhere between bass music with a festival edge where he often embraces pop-oriented vocals. His excitement is contagious, “Heart Stops,” being one of his strongest to date.
