Oliver Heldens Is Back With Another Stunner In ‘Never Look Back’

Three years in the making, Oliver Heldens’ ‘Never Look Back’ is here. Originally meant to be a Britney Spears collaboration, which ultimately fell through, but today the track finds its vocals from Syd Silvair.

Syd Silvair’s slinky vocal dances over teases of the melodic elements in the intro, and we’re soon propelled into a succinct groove of rugged, tuneful bass and heavenly keys. The melody strips back for the sassy vocal to take centre stage, positioned halfway between singing and rapping and utterly infectious.

The earworm vocal explodes into a wide stereo image as the chorus hits, and the succinct arrangement supports it perfectly. While it would have been cool to have Britney Spears providing vocals, Syd Silvair does an exceptional job, potentially a better result in the end.

Oliver Heldens has been smashing the game as of recent. Together with his HI-LO alias, he has been releasing some amazing music and is sure to continue throughout 2021.
