Oliver Tree Releases ‘Cash Machine’ and Announces Album Coming in March

Oliver Tree is no stranger to outlandish music videos and challenging the status quo, that theme continues with his newest offering ‘Cash Machine’. Accompanying the song is a video directed by Oliver himself, which without fail expresses his creativity and humour.

The message behind the song is a clear stab at consumerism and it arrives right on time, with Black Friday having just passed and Christmas around the corner. The intelligent lyricism encourages listeners to think differently about their needless spending. “How bad do you need that stuff? What’s it all for? Why’s it seem like you still want more?“.

Oliver Tree’s distinctive vocals open the track together with the rawness of acoustic guitar chords, it continues with complex production and as with every release of his we’ve heard, it’s brilliantly put together!

‘Cash Machine’ marks the first single from Oliver Tree’s hugely anticipated debut album, Ugly Is Beautiful, due 27 March, 2020. The LP follows the recently released acclaimed EP ‘Do You Feel Me?‘, which includes hit singles ‘Miracle Man,’ ‘Hurt,’ and ‘Alien Boy.’

Now boasting over 75 million worldwide streams and counting, Tree’s smash hit single, ‘Hurt’ came with a gripping companion video which currently has over 26 million individual views and was shot in Ukraine by Tree and co-director Brendan Vaughan.

Cash Machine is out now via Atlantic Records.
