It is always an absolute electric feeling when you discover a new artist that really has serious talent and potential. One such artist is dual nationality singer songwriter Joe Sturges. Growing up in the hustle and bustle of Madrid, Joe from an early age immediately caught attention with his natural talent for the drums which enabled him in his teenage years to join in with jam sessions in the hip hop, folk and jazz scene all across the capital
In his late teens and early twenties, Sturges started writing instrumental music, releasing “Awareness”, a neo-classical jazz EP on April 2020. In this release, Joe shows his classical influences while merging them with jazz textures in an introspective and cinematic landscape of sounds. After this, Joe went on to work with a variety of Spanish musicians, one of them being Lucas de Mulder, with which he released the first ambient funk EP “Cabin Bound”, a duo project under both their names, signed by the American label “Color Red”.
Today, we have the privilege to premiere Joe’s first ever track featuring his own vocals, ‘Remain’.
