Remix Radar 014: Featuring NGHTMRE, Wankelmut, and BIJOU

Welcome to this week’s Remix Radar! It is our Fourteenth edition and is full of spicy tunes to eradicate any summer blues that may be festering. We have explosive tracks from NGHTMRE and BIJOU. We have an exploration of fine house sounds from KC Lights and Wankelmut. Plus, we have an extra sizzling track deep From the Vault. Prepare yourself. Remix Radar is here!

Dillon Francis and Alison Wonderland – Lost My Mind (NGHTMRE Remix)

Fresh off a Lollapalooza and HARD Summer performance, NGHTMRE douses “Lost My Mind” in the aggressive bass sounds that we’ve come to love NGHTMRE for. This remix is nothing short of a shot of caffeine straight to the brain.

Jax Jones Ft. Bebe Rexha – Harder (KC Lights 6 AM Remix)

KC Lights makes another appearance on Remix Radar for his remixes of the sexy tune, “Harder”, by Jax Jones and Bebe Rexha. I enjoy both versions of the remix, but I favor the 6 AM version a little more. The 6 AM has added string chords that sit really nice within the production and add an extra wrinkle of intrigue.

Barbatuques – Baianá (Pablo Fierro Remix)

MY FAVORITE REMIX OF THE WEEK! Holy hell, this one is highly infectious and it will make you dance around whatever room you’re in. Pablo Fierro truly knows how to unleash a vibrant rhythmic beat and tribal vibes that are as seductive as a fine wine.

The original “Baianá” is made solely by sounds created by the human body. Barbatuques are a very unique group and I appreciate the light Pablo has shined upon their artistic vision and ability.

Flux Pavilion Ft. Layna – Symphony (Taim Remix)

Flux Pavilion’s receives a bass house remix from rising newcomer, Taim. The remix is less pretty than the original, but still has a really nice sound that combines wonderfully with Layna’s seductive vocals.

Niko The Kid Ft Bipolar Sunshine – Away (Niko The Kid VIP Edit)

Not a traditional remix, but it’s still a banger. Niko The Kid transforms his “Away”, into a dark, brooding track that radiates a mysterious vibe that draws listeners to its soul. The original is definitely more pop-oriented, while this is designed more for clubs.

Matroda Ft. Dances With White Girls – Bang (ANGELZ Remix)

Matroda released his much-anticipated remix pack of “Bang” and “True G” last week. The standout remix comes from ANGELZ and it’s a boisterous G-house/bass house track destined to make dance floors rumble.

South Street Player – (Who?) Keeps Changing Your Mind ( Wankelmut Remix)

Wankelmut provides a revitalization of “(Who?) Keeps Changing Your Mind” the club banger from 1993. Wankelmut’s version is a bit groovier and crisper than the original. It’s essentially a modern take on the early 90s house and garage scene.

Green Velvet – Answering Machine (Prok & Fitch Remix)

Prok & Fitch mesmerize on their remix of Green Velvet’s “Answering Machine”. The duo provides a nice rolling groove that’s full of savory tech-house stylings. Another masterful addition to Prok & Fitch’s discography.

Croatia Squad – Glitches (Yvvan Black Remix)

Yvvan Black provides a roaring house remix of Croatia Squad’s 2017 tune, “Glitches”. It’s a perfect blend of both artists while having really nice energy and sound for summer parties on Ibiza.

Party Favor Ft. Lil Baby & Rich The Kid – Wave (BIJOU Remix)

BIJOU unleashes grimy G-house waves on the remix of Party Favor’s “Wave”. The vocals from Lil baby and Rich The Kid work wonderfully with BIJOU’s reimaging and takes the track to another level.

If you enjoy Trap stylings more, YehMe2 remix is for you!

Hermitude – HyperParadise (Flume Remix)

In honor of Flume’s newest release and his continued promo schedule, this week’s One From The Vault is the hyped-up “HyperParadise” remix. This one is absolutely the definition of a “banger”. It packs a punch of a thousand men (or women) and was truly a monumental track that brought insane attention to Hermitude and Flume. This one was all over DJ Sets in 2016/2017, yet you will still occasionally hear this live from time to time. That’s how monstrous this tune is.
