Remix Radar 015: Featuring Kaskade, Troyboi, and Floating Points

Welcome to the dirtiest music affair of the week! Remix Radar is here to churn the inner workings of your mind with rhythm and vibes. This week we feature Mr. Versatility aka Kaskade, Troyboi, and the always mysterious, Floating Points. Prepare your mind and ears because Remix Radar is back!

Diplo & Blond:ish Ft. Kah-Lo – Give Dem (Kaskade Remix)

Kaskade unleashes his Redux vibes all-over Diplo and Blond:ish’s “Give Dem”. Kah-lo’s vocals fit like a glove in Kaskade’s dark searing house vibes.

Party Favor Ft. A$AP Ferg & Juicy J – Wait A Minute (Troyboi Remix)

A saucy experimental Trap remix from Troyboi that possesses all those lovely qualities that we love hearing from him. I personally prefer it to the original work from Party Favor, but both are exceptional in their own right.

The Bloody Beetroots Ft. Steve Aoki – Warp 1.9 (QUIX Remix)

Currently, one of the hottest dance artists, QUIX, provides a modern revitalization of Warp and it is disgusting – in a good way. This is a head exploder.

Headie One Ft. Skepta – Back To Basics (Floating Points Remix)

If you ever wonder what Floating Points would sound like making grime or UK hip-hop, this one is for you. Headie One and Skepta sound even better with Floating Points production. I would love to hear a collab with all three.

Wiley Ft. Tory Lanez, Kranium, & Dappy – My One (Shift K3Y Remix)

Shift K3Y is having a momentous year and adds another sizzling remix to the discography with “My One”. The remix is strong with other-worldly house sounds that infect your brain stem with its rhythm.

Funk LeBlanc Ft. Holland Greco – Real Love (Oliver Nelson Remix)

The funk and groove are alive in this remix from Oliver Nelson. It would definitely feel at home vibrating the walls of a discotheque in the late 70s or early 80s. I also really enjoy the original from Funk LeBlanc and highly recommend checking out his discography

Nora En Pure – Pure Remixes, Vol 1.

Two of Nora En Pure’s hits, “Come With Me” and “Polynesia” receive revitalization on Pure Remixes, Vol. 1. Passenger 10 provides a darker take of “Come With Me”, while Daniel Portman provides a radically different vision for Polynesia. Both are equally cool remixes.

Cyn – Holy Roller (Blonde Remix)

Blonde transforms the siren-esque Cyn into an emotive house tune. It drips sexy piano keys and contains an enticing beat that will shake clubs. You’ll catch yourself singing “I feel like a Holy roller” days after listening to this.

SG Lewis Ft. Ruel – Flames (Lastlings Remix)

If you couldn’t tell from previous weeks, I am a huge fan of the familial duo, Lastlings. Their remix of SG Lewis’s “Flames” is an extraordinary club vibe with a delightful sound design.

Möwe & Jonasu Ft. Eskeemo – Lost In Amsterdam (Frank Pole Remix)

Frank Pole provides a twisted and dark facelift to “Lost In Amsterdam”. The rising artist peels away some of the prettiness from Möwe and Jonasu’s production while retaining the catchiness of the original. Without a doubt, you’ll be singing “Lost in Amsterdam”.

Josh Wink Ft. Ursula Rucker – Sixth Sense (Louie Vega Remix)

Louie Vega is part of dance music history. He made his beginnings back in the 80’s and has consistently astounded the club scene since then. His Remix of Sixth Sense is full of old school vibes that’ll tickle your soul.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Glass Animals – Black Mambo (Zodiac Remix)

Glass Animals exploded on to the scene with their hit, “Gooey”, and became indie music darlings. Soon after, they released “Black Mambo”, which was a saucy followup that – again – titillated fans and newcomers. What many people may have missed out on was a really unique and refreshing remix of “Black Mambo” from a relative unknown, Zodiac. The remix has a rich and deep sound design that I really enjoy. Zodiac’s remix definitely deserves more attention so give this one a listen and I promise you won’t be disappointed.
