Remix Radar 017: Featuring Soulwax, CID, and Syn Cole

The 17th edition of Remix Radar lands with a boisterous thud to entertain you on this Tuesday. In 17th week we feature an eclectic group of artists that span the different genres of dance music. From Soulwax to CID to Ross From Friends to Syn Cole. We’ve covered it all. Scroll down to begin the party.

Robyn – Ever Again (Soulwax Remix)

Another edition, another dope Robyn remix. This time from everyone’s favorite Belgians, Soulwax. Robyn has the right voice and attitude to serve as the perfect muse to the stylings of Soulwax.

Lizzo – Truth hurts (CID Remix)

Is there any artist that has had a bigger rise than Lizzo in the last year or so? Even my 6-year-old niece knows who Lizzo is. CRAZY! Her hit “Truth hurts” receives the CID treatment and gets a bouncy remix that tantalizes.

Flume & London Grammar – Let You Know (Ross From Friends Remix)

One of the sauciest new tracks from Flume, “Let You Know”, gets the special remix treatment from Ross From Friends. The new imaging is quite minimalist and downtempo, but it’s the right temperature to entrance dancefloors.

The Aston Shuffle & Fabich Ft. Dana Williams – Stay (Cassian Remix)

Cassian provides a sizzler of a remix for The Aston Shuffle & Fabich’s “Stay”. Cassian transforms the song into a brooding tune with a dark bite. It’s quite infectious.

Ella Eyre & Banx & Ranx Ft. Kiana Led̩ РMama (Disciples Remix)

Disciples turn up the heat and transform Ella Eyre and Banx & Ranx’s “Mama” into a banging house tune. This track is perfect for dancing on the beach and drinking a little too much tequila.

John Christian & Juliette Claire – Club Bizarre (Don Diablo Edit)

Don Diablo creates a delicious bit of ear-candy out of “Club Bizarre”. Don adds layers of distortion and extra punchiness for some headbanging fun.

Zack Martino & Dyson – Mood (Black Caviar Remix)

I absolutely despise the original version of “Mood” and that isn’t an indictment on Zack Martino and Dyson since both artists have made great tunes. It’s not my cup of tea, which I’m sure most of you can tell by my choices for Remix Radar. However, Black Caviar absolutely crushed the remix of “Mood” and truly turned it into a sizzling tune.

Au/Ra – Dance in the Dark (Cedric Gervais Remix)

One of my favorite singers, Au/Ra, receives a piano-infused house remix from Cedric Gervais. It drips a sexiness that we all come to expect from both artists.

RITUAL With Emily Warren – Using (Syn Cole Remix)

Syn Cole remixes RITUAL’s “Using” into an uber infectious down-tempo jam. It’s a delightful track with uplifting vibes that will definitely bring a smile to your face.

Sultan + Shepard & Showtek – We Found Love (ATFC Remix)

Sampling Heavy D & The Boyz, Sultan + Shepard and Showtek’s “We Found Love” is a delightful jam. ATFC remixes the track into a club banger that I am sure will make quite a few appearances in DJ sets.

CamelPhat & Jake Bugg – Be Someone (Cristoph Remix)

This remix from Cristoph came out a few weeks ago, but it’s a really nice reimaging of “Be Someone”. I’ve had it stuck in my head, dancing around inside ever since I heard it. Be prepared to be hypnotized.

Carl Cox – Dr. Funk (Riva Starr Mo’ Disco Remix)

Carl Cox’s “Dr. Funk” receives a two-track remix pack from Riva Starr. Starr’s remixes are quite amazing and are every bit as dope as the original. I prefer the “Mo’ Disco Remix” for its extra layer of groove, but the “Mo’ Funk Remix” is great as well.

The Guidance – She Likes The Dance Music (Tommie Sunshine & SLATIN Remix)

The opening vocal to “She Likes The Dance Music” is hilarious and one of the more original openers for a house track. Label head, Tommie Sunshine, connects with SLATIN to provide a tasty morsel. This remix will definitely be a club exploder.

The original by The Guidance is also great.

One Bit with Laura White – Back To You (Illyus & Barrientos Remix)

Rising artists, One Bit, have been exploding across dance music. Their single, “Back To You” featuring Laura White, receives a vibe-y remix from Illyus & Barrientos. It’s quite infectious and has a nice bounce to get people dancing.

Cosmic Gate – Fire Wire (Andrew Bayer Remix)

This remix is for all the fans of trance. Two mainstays of the scene, Cosmic Gate and Andrew Bayer, combine for a spiritual journey brought by a trance wave. Dare I say it’s a cosmic gate to a new world?

Latroit – Nice (Twice As Nice) (Jay Robinson Remix)

Latroit’s “Nice” receives a saucy house remix from Jay Robinson. It oozes sexy, vibrant house elements conjuring memories of the scene in the early ’90s, while having a bit of modern flavoring.

FDZN’s remix is also a banging tune.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Pan-Pot – Riot (Carl Cox Remix)

In honor of Carl Cox receiving a naughty remix pack from Cedric Gervais, I bring fort one of my favorite remix from the legend. Mr. Cox provides an absolute monster of a tune by remixing Riot by Pan-Pot. Techno heads will appreciate this one.
