Remix Radar 024: Featuring Petit Biscuit, EDX, and Fakear

Everyone’s favorite music list is back! This week’s Remix Radar is curated with the freshest tunes, which include remixes from Petit Biscuit, EDX, and Fakear; plus, many more quality tracks. Sit back, relax and enjoy the 24th Edition of Remix Radar.

Flume & Vera Blue – Rushing Back (Petit Biscuit Remix)

We start this week with the most known remix of the week, Petit Biscuit’s spin of “Rushing Back”. We at CULTR have already provided a nice feature about the track, which can be found here. In the simplest terms and to not regurgitate anything, it’s tight.

Charli XCX – White Mercedes (EDX Miami Sunset Remix)

EDX drips his trademark delicate and emotive melodic house over Charli XCX’s “White Mercedes”. It’s a delicious tune destined for beach parties.

Caravan Palace – Miracle (Fakear Remix)

Electroswing has found quite a bit of success over the last 5 years. It’s hung around the fringes of dance music and one of the big reasons for that is Caravan Palace. Their energetic, danceable tracks have found a ravenous fanbase that highlights the clear artistic talent.

For their recent release, “Miracle”, the group employes Fakear to use his magic to create a lush and intoxicating remix. It’s equal parts Caravan Palace groove and Fakear’s spiritual synth wave.

P.S The Boogie Belgique remix is also great.

Sean Paul – When It Comes To You (AC Slater Remix)

AC Slater synthesis magma-like heat from Sean Paul’s “When It Comes To You”. The Caribbean feel mixed with AC Slater’s bass-focused house forms a really cool sound. This one needs to be brought back for the beginning of summer.

Hayden James – Favours (Cassian Remix)

Hayden James finally releases the complete remix pack for Between Us. Previous Remix Radars have featured plenty of the remixes within the pack, but this week brings us the “Favours” remix by Cassian. It’s laced with a swirling build and plenty of interesting sounds to keep your ears entertained.

The entire remix pack is great. I suggest giving it a full listen.

SLATIN & BOXINBOX Ft. Blak Trash – Dirty (Tommie Sunshine & B!tch Be Cool Remix)

The entire remix pack is really cool, but I have to spotlight the remix from Tommie Sunshine & B!tch Be Cool. It’s full of those whacky and whimsical sounds that we love to hear in tech-house and house as a whole. In particular, there’s a really juicy synth melody.

Kavinsky – Night Call (RK Remix)

Arguably the coolest song of all-time and the best movie theme song, “Night Call” receives a modern rearrangement from RK (Robbo Kook). RK is relatively unknown, but he has serious talent. He definitely made something that honors Kavinsky.

Patawawa – All The Time (Yuksek 1984 Edit)

We continue the French synth-wave tunes with a shimmering remix from Yuksek. Dubbed the “1984 Edit” of Patawawa’s “All The Time”, it conjures memories of the ’80s while radiating modern vibrancy. This track definitely feels like something James Murphy would spin in his DJ sets.

Moon Boots Ft. Black Gatsby – Whisper In The Wind (Alex Metric Remix)

Alex Metric spins a brooding tune from Moon Boots and Black Gatsby’s “Whisper In The Wind”. Sparkling synths, bellowing low-ends, and a roaring beat fuse together to form a lush and vibrant sound design.

Andhim – Duno (Neil Landstrumm Dream Wave Remix)

Neil Landstrumm constructs a bizarre and playful remix from Andhim’s “Duno”. It careens and rumbles sending a tingling sensation through the body. It’s quite the experience.

Fritz Kalkbrenner – Kings & Queens (Ruede Hagelstein’s From the Other Side of Town Remix)

Ruede Hagelstein weaves a beautiful and emotional sound design from Fritz Kalkbrenner’s “Kings & Queens”. The remix builds and swells with colorful sounds as if Ruede was constructing a mosaic. It’s a wonderful melodic tune.

Adriatique – Nude (Remixes)

Adriatique unveils a tasty remix pack for Nude. It features remixes from Solomun, Tale Of Us & Mathame, Kobosil, Rampa, Agents Of Time, Johannes Brecht, and Isolée. They are all fantastic in their own right and deserve a listen. I suggest smoking a doobie or drinking scotch or whatever it may be that relaxes you or puts you in the right mood and then hitting play on the remix pack.

Botnek – Jiffy (Bor & Mar Remix)

Bor & Mar bring their boisterous sound to Botnek’s “Jiffy”. The French duo peels back the distorted funk that marked the original and replaces it with sticky grime that packs a wallop. I can hear this one reverberating from the walls of a sweat-dripping warehouse party.

Jaël – Never Feel Alone Again (Tobtok Remix)

Swedish artist, Tobtok, builds a juicy and delicious tune from Jaël’s “Never Feel Alone Again”. The remix has a sonic lushness that skirts the inner-workings of the mind and entrances listeners to dance.

Win and Woo Ft. Sara Skinner – Here U R (Fatum Remix)

Win and Woo’s “Here U R” receives a reimaging from Fatum. The Grammy-nominated duo sends listeners on a bubbling and energetic trance-inspired journey.

ONE FROM THE VAULT

Modeselektor Ft. Thom Yorke – The White Flash (Trentemøller Remix)

Fans of Modeselektor or Thom Yorke will thoroughly enjoy the Trentemøller Remix of “The White Flash”. The Austrian-native creates a grimy and intricate sound design that drives listeners through a dark careening world.
