Remix Radar July: Solomun, MEDUZA, Oliver Heldens + More

We cover the remix finding duties with our picks of the best of July. Dive in below for a range of different sounds from the dance music world.

RÜFÜS DU SOL – Alive (Solomun Remix)

Clocking in at almost 9 minutes, Solomun’s take on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s new ‘Alive’ has arrived. The Bosnian-German melodic house and techno artist injects some driving dark beats into the single, using the vocal to guide the clubby instrumental.

Ed Sheeran – Bad Habits (MEDUZA Remix)

MEDUZA twist Ed Sheeran’s EDM-esque single ‘Bad Habits’ into a fresh house hitter. The Italian trio mix a much needed new sound into the single that is a treat together with Sheeran’s vocal.

The Prodigy feat. RZA – Breathe (Rene LaVice Dark D&B Remix)

Originally redone with RZA for the F9 soundtrack, Rene La Vice comes back to it for a dark D&B mix. ‘Breathe’ never gets old and this new mix is another example of that. The hard hitting and hectic new mix is a great mechanism to expend this record’s lifespan.

Calvin Harris feat. Tom Grennan – By Your Side (Oliver Heldens Remix)

Oliver Heldens brings his energetic and bouncy house sound to Calvin Harris’s summer jam with Tom Grennan ‘By Your Side’. The bassline makes way for lighter and jubilant marimba patterns which elevate the tune and resonate with the track’s uplifting lyrics.

Londin Thompson – Don’t Prove Me Wrong (Maor Levi Remix)

Maor Levi changes thing up for his fresh new mix of Londin Thompson’s ‘Don’t Prove Me Wrong’ out through Republic. The talented artist swaps his hard hitting trance sounds for a groovy synth focused house mix.

Yousef & The Angel – Float Away (Camelphat Remix)

Camelphat re-do Yousef and The Angel’s 2013 team up ‘Float Away’ with a fresh coat of paint. The Liverpool duo highlight the unique and captivating elements from the original with a new driving house production.

Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries – Don’t Look Back (Gerd Janson Vocal Remix)

Gerd Janson revamps ‘Don’t Look Back’, a 2012 Tommie Sunshine and Disco Fries release. Janson brings a super cool lead melody with him that works perfectly with edited vocals. A great remix for house sets.
