SAMAHTA Impresses With ‘Hollywood Smile’ Featuring Lena Leon

SAMAHTA was initially started as a passion project only last year and in a short time frame there is now a huge demand for their cinematic electronic sounds.

Accumulating millions of streams and gaining support from YouTube’s biggest tastemakers, SAMAHTA’s rise since the release of “Secret Weapon” has gone from strength to strength. Along the way, Facebook used their release “Graffiti” for an international campaign and Steve Aoki added SAMAHTA to his Kolony Tour after releasing only one song.

Now with the support of Proximity, they release their debut EP named after the title track “Hollywood Smile,” a collaboration with New York-based artist and songwriter Lena Leon – a dark brooding song that captures your emotions and takes you on a journey through story of a fictional “Rose”. The track is visualised with a short teaser of Rose in front of the Hollywood sign going up in flames.

“there aren’t many songs out there right now that vividly tell a story. I grew up as a musical theater performer, and love any opportunity to play a character. Rose represents my, and my co-writer Benjamin Samama’s, many years of struggle in the music business” Leon writes about the song.

The EP also features collaborations with Hail Luna, Molly Moore, Melody Federer and Willa which together let us experience a defining moment for SAMAHTA. We hope you enjoy this offering as music as we do, and we look forward to seeing these performed live at some point in the future, hopefully on a big stage with a sound-system that can do justice.
