Serbia’s EXIT Festival Coming In August As One Of The First Festivals To Return

After the Serbian Prime Minister asked the EXIT festival not to cancel but move to August, the organizers are working round the clock to create a special event for the 20th birthday edition.

With the dates set for EXIT to take place from 13 to 16 August, the first wave of more than 30 performers are announced including Amelie Lens, Black Coffee, Nina Kraviz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Boris Brejcha, Tale Of Us, Robin Schulz, Ofenbach and Laibach. Roni Size who headlined the festival 20 years ago, will also perform an exclusive B2B set with LTJ Bukem feat. EXIT resident MC Dynamite, to name a few.

When the festival was postponed last month, organizers stated that the event would “probably not” run at its full 55,000-capacity, 40-stage format. With the push back to August, they’ve now confirmed it will contain at least 20 stages and zones. The number of attendees will also be limited to 50% of the festival’s usual capacity.

The festival in its full format will probably not return until 2021,” said EXIT co-founder Dušan Kovačević. “But we are delighted to hear that the health situation is becoming increasingly better and that we’ll be able to mark the 20th anniversary of Exit this summer with a meaningful and safe event.

It’s great to see festivals return at this point in time, with support from the government and not crazy virus numbers, EXIT should be fine. However, if cases increase directly due to the festival, this will be bad news for everyone, setting a negative president for future festivals.

EXIT tickets can be found at exitfest.org for just £89 | 99 € + b/f, and for those who wish to bundle them with accommodation and local transfer, there are also packages starting from 149 €.

All fans who purchased their ticket in the period before the suspension of sales will have the opportunity to decide whether they want to use their ticket for the August edition of the festival, exchange it for next year’s festival, or seek a refund in accordance with the conditions, prescribed by the Serbian Government for events delayed due to the pandemic, of which they will be notified in a timely manner.
