Seven Lions Calls Upon Last Heroes And HALIENE On ‘Don’t Wanna Fall’

Melodic bass overlord Seven Lions’ recent car rave in Chandler, Arizona was a memorable one for many reasons. Not only did he successfully put together one of the few concerts in the midst of the pandemic, but he also slipped in a teaser of his latest single, ‘Don’t Wanna Fall’ right at the end of his set. Quite unexpectedly, in just two weeks since its premier, the track sees a release on his own label, Ophelia.

Seven Lions launched Ophelia two years ago to support rising talent in the melodic bass genre, and much in the same vein, he invites Colorado duo Last Heroes, fresh off three 2020 releases on Ophelia, to team up with him on this massive collaboration with longtime vocal partner Haliene.

The Seven Lions sound of old, replete with sparkling arpeggios and thundering percussion, shines amidst yet another spectacular vocal offering from Haliene’s stellar discography. A vibrancy of sounds from Last Heroes’ arsenal is also apparent, especially in the potency of the metallic leads that light up the climaxes.

‘Don’t Wanna Fall’ holds a special place in the hearts of the duo that comprises Last Heroes. They write in an Instagram caption, “At the start of last year, we were struggling both musically and personally. When Jeff (Seven Lions) asked if we wanted to do a song together, it felt like a new start. He was one of the reasons we started making music, and the new meaning and excitement we’ve found in every small moment of our journey since then has been so inspiring.”

Although track’s title has been the butt of good-humored irony in relation to Jeff’s recent spine-fracturing fall, we sincerely hope that he will be back up on his feet soon. As we await the next of his acclaimed Visions livestreams soon, ‘Don’t Wanna Fall’ serves as a perfect tease to the melodic dubstep sound that the rest of 2020 holds in store.
