Globally renowned producer, songwriter, and DJ SG Lewis has released his much-anticipated third studio album, ‘Anemoia’, out today via his own imprint, Forever Days, in partnership with Astralwerks. The album’s launch is accompanied by the lead single ‘Baby Blue’, a shimmering disco collaboration with Oliver Sim of The xx that encapsulates the record’s blend of nostalgia and modern club culture.
The album’s title, ‘Anemoia’, refers to a feeling of nostalgia for a time one has never experienced. This concept is the thematic heart of the record, as SG Lewis delves into his fascination with bygone eras of dance music. Weaving together elements of early trance, Balearic house, and 2000s electronica with his distinct pop sensibility.
“The album is rooted in the dancefloor, and even its quieter moments are shaped by Balearic sounds that were influenced from spending a lot of time in Ibiza last summer,” Lewis shares. “More than anything, I want Anemoia to be a soundtrack to living in the present, to creating the kind of moments that others might one day feel nostalgic for.”
This release caps off a highly successful 18-month period for the artist, marked by high-profile collaborations with Tove Lo, Nelly Furtado, and Shygirl. During this time, he also launched his Forever Days label, curating sold-out headline shows at iconic venues around the world.
