Shöckface and New Zealand’s MICA link up with Bromar for ‘Ride or Die’ on Eevee’s Secret Souls. MICA and Bromar make their debut on Secret Souls as Shöckface returns with his second release on Eevee’s imprint record label. On ‘Ride or Die’ MICA and Shöckface paint an eclectic array of ethereal soundscapes taking listeners on an emotional uplifting roller coaster aided by Bromar’s crooning vocals.
‘Ride or Die’ commences as shimmering synths flood the introduction of the song making way for the Canadian singers vocals. Stirring up a plethora of feelings and emotion, Bromar wonders if he will ever find his ‘Ride or Die,’ asking himself “can you stay true to me, can we live truthfully?” As the record nears the climax, Shöckface and MICA infuse roaring basslines and glitchy synth work into a vibrant string of sounds.
“‘Ride or Die’ came together earlier this year when MICA and I were both in lockdown on opposite sides of the world. I FaceTimed my brother Bromar one night to catch up and he was in the studio, he told me to send him something immediately to start writing to because we were both in our feelings. I sent him over the track I was working on with MICA and he absolutely loved it. 24 hours later he sent me back the demo and I immediately knew we had a special record in our hands. MICA and Bromar are extraordinary musicians and even better individuals.
