After a solo Au5 single (“The Way To Infinity“) last month marking the second release on SLANDER’s melodically-oriented Heaven Sent record label, the label bosses themselves joined in on the fun with a long-awaited SLANDER x Au5 collaboration. Titled “Anywhere” and featuring the male-female vocal duet from shYbeast and PYLA, the melodic bass monster perfectly integrates SLANDER’s massive supersaws and thundering percussion with Au5’s intricate sound design and impeccable dubstep growls.
In true Au5 style, the nearly 5-minute-long tune forgoes rushed, commercial melodic bass structures in favor of smooth, authentic progressions spanning three elegantly-forged drops. The production sees wide synths and clever triplet percussional elements adding indelible energy to the track, adorned by a brilliant evocative topline. With two harmonizing layers of vocals, hard-hitting drums, creatively-crafted leads and festival-worthy supersaws all in the mix, it’s a pure miracle that the this track compromises on nothing along the wonderful journey it leads the listener on.
